On the past July 8th the Virtual School held their fifth anniversary since its launch in Cartagena, Colombia on 2006. Side events were carried in Bogota and Panama, and had the assistance of guests from the Office of UNDP Colombia and the Regional Centre of Panama.
During the event, the team expressed their sincere gratitude to all the people that has worked with the Virtual School and which has supported projects of the UNDP Offices and other agencies. The main results, during this 5 years, were highlighted: more than 4,000 men and women in Latin America were trained, besides the wide academic offer that now includes 24 courses in three thematic areas: Human Development, Democratic Governance and Crisis Prevention and Early Recovery

After these 5 years of training for development, the Virtual School's commitment is to continue exploring new ways to use and take advantage of audiovisual products and the academic knowledge to support the achievement of the objectives of individuals, Country Offices and their counterparts in the region.
